DEVONthink To Go 2.1.5 was first with an update, today it’s the turn of DEVONthink, DEVONagent, and DEVONnote to receive an overhaul.

DEVONthink Pro and Pro Office 2.9.12 allow you to copy a universal URL for databases. Previously item links were only available for groups and documents. Link to other documents or to resources such as images and CSS files from Markdown documents with absolute paths too. Zoom or rotate images with trackpad gestures, set a reminder to a custom date, and access the subgroups of your Favorites in contextual, action, or popup menus. Finally, DEVONthink and DEVONnote 2.9.12 let you zoom in and out of web pages with gestures. (mehr)

Today’s update for DEVONthink To Go brings the grid view on iPad and iPhone Plus also to databases and smart groups. The grid view lets you show your documents as large icons and move and group them with drag-and-drop. Previously this was only possible within databases. (mehr)

Our latest update to DEVONthink to Go, version 2.1.4, features a rewritten Action menu based on the standard iOS share sheet. Share text, images, or whole documents with as few taps as possible. Quickly print documents, copy a universal item link for them that you can use from any app that works with URLs, or capture web pages as web archives. (mehr)

Today everything revolves around research! We’ve updated all three editions of DEVONagent as well as DEVONsphere Express with support for new search engines and file formats.

DEVONagent now searches using StartPage, scans all bookmarks in DEVONthink, and brings new options for automatically filing found results in your research database. But even if you use DEVONagent Pro’s internal archive, this release is for you: Version 3.9.6 returns more comprehensive search results by finding terms across all metadata fields. (mehr)

DEVONthink To Go 2.1.3, which passed Apple’s review today and became available on the App Store, follows its Mac counterpart, and now also uses our own decluttering service when clipping web pages and articles. This way we’ve made it independent of third-party services and ready for future improvements. (mehr)

Two weeks ago Instapaper silently made their public API available only to logged-in users. If you are one of the DEVONthink users whose workflow relied on Instapaper here’s the fix release for you. DEVONthink 2.9.11 now uses our own Markdownifier web service for decluttering clipped web pages and articles and so removes the dependency on a third-party service. (mehr)

DEVONthink is all about document management and workflow. Version 2.1 brought the document provider extension, now DEVONthink To Go 2.1.2 lets you share multiple documents in one go with other apps, e.g., for sending them by email. Markdown and HTML documents can now link to images and other items simply by local paths as an alternative to using item links. Markdown is becoming increasingly popular as an easy-to-learn file format for text requiring only simple formatting. (mehr)

DEVONthink To Go 2.1.1 just passed Apple’s review with important bug fixes. — For the new document provider extension feature to work, DEVONthink To Go 2.1 had to move the the database files to a new location shared between application and its extensions. On some devices this failed and resulted in an error message and an apparently empty database. Version 2.1.1 fixes this issue and makes the database accessible again. If you’re serious about document management on iOS then you’ll not want to miss today’s release of DEVONthink To Go 2.1. It lets you open, edit, and save documents stored in your databases from other apps. If you’re an Apple Notes user but would like to move completely to DEVONthink and DEVONthink To Go now, this update is for you. DEVONthink 2.9.9 adds an option for importing notes and attachments from Apple Notes. It honors the folder structure in Apple Notes and uses formatted notes to preserve formatting in a future-proof format. (mehr)
