Mailplane is a probably the best way to use Gmail on a Mac. Version 3.6.9 adds native support for DEVONthink Pro and Pro Office: Open a message in Mailplane and choose Edit > Save to DEVONthink to save the message as webarchive to DEVONthink. The document includes a link back to the original message in Gmail. You can also send downloaded attachments to your DEVONthink inbox. (more)

DEVONthink Pro Office stores email messages in their original formats. The Global Inbox is a built-in database, provided so you can start working (or playing!) in DEVONthink the moment you launch it. For DEVONthink Pro and Pro Office, it is ideally used as a temporary storage location — a place for transient or unfiled data. If you find yourself typing the same things over and over again, there is a way to give your fingers a break. Text expansion is a method of assigning abbreviations for things like often used phrases. For example, you may create an abbreviation like em1, which could fill in your email when typed. Or you may have boilerplate text for a business, like thank yous. DEVONthink To Go 2.0.7 has passed Apple’s review just in time for the Christmas break. The new version adds support for 3D Touch and page links for PDFs. Version 2.0.7 also presents the results of an in-PDF search nicer and handles global searches for words containing non-alphanumeric characters better. Audio continues to play when you switch to another app. Finally, the app icon badge now shows only the number of unread items in the global inbox. (more)
