We have already updated DEVONthink and DEVONagent with the necessary adjustments for OS X Yosemite. Today we’ve released DEVONsphere Express 1.8 as well as new versions of PhotoStickies and XMenu. DEVONsphere 1.8 adds support for Finder and Open Meta tags, Scapple files, and diagnostic reports. It also uses Open Graph properties of HTML pages and web pages to provide more accurate results. On OS X Mavericks and later version 1.8 indexes email messages again. The update also reduces DEVONsphere Express’ CPU usage and improves its performance and reliability. (more)
iCloud Drive is Apple’s reincarnation of the iDisk. Install the Index iCloud Drive script to add all user-created folders in iCloud Drive to your inbox. User-created means all folders that are not application-specific such as the Numbers of Pages folders. (more)
This weekend Apple finally released DEVONthink To Go 1.5 to the App Store. Among many little changes the new version comes with a brand new iOS 8 extension for clipping data from many other apps. Unfortunately a bug crept into the code with a last-minute change that crashes the app after adding data to the database from e.g. the Clip to DEVONthink extension. (more)
OS X Yosemite is peeking around the corner. Today we’ve released updates for DEVONagent Pro through Lite that get them ready for Apple’s newest iteration of its Mac operating system. In addition version 3.8.2 searches Baidu, the #1 search engine in China, and the Pro edition lets you easily share web content. Scanners in version 3.8.2 are more accurate and the new version better filters links to social media, e.g. retweets. (more)

Sometimes you are working along in DEVONthink and realize you want to check out something in the same group, or maybe a group in the same hierarchy. Command-click the name in the title bar of a document window to show a dropdown of the hierarchy the file resides in. Clicking one of the locations will open it in a new window leaving your current window open behind it. (more)
The built-in spell checker in OS X is quite handy and available from within all Mac apps including DEVONthink. But there are many times when it thinks you’ve misspelled something when you know you haven’t. And while it may be nothing but a cosmetic annoyance to see the dashed red line under a word, you may want to teach the spell checker a thing or two. (more)
Getting your articles from Instapaper to DEVONthink automatically isn’t straightforward, unfortunately. Power user and former DEVONtechnologies crew member Annard Brouwer has written a great little script that takes a CSV file exported from Instapaper, converts it using Numbers, and imports the cleaned up result to DEVONthink Pro or Pro Office. DEVONthink power user Veritrope has created two new scripts that creates a list of all the pages currently open in tabs in Safari or Chrome. So with a single click you have saved all your tabs in a single HTML document in DEVONthink Pro (Office) and you can re-visit the pages later at any time. Download the Safari script and the Chrome script from his homepage. Veritrope has many more scripts and tips for dealing with browser tabs.
